Two semesters ago, I took a philosophy course and I remember talking about this particular subject. I could not completely understand the entire dialogue but I remember reading about this.
The Republic, is Plato most outstanding work from what I was told. The dialogue discusses and deals with questions of virtue, justice, wisdom, courage, and government.
Plato was student of Socrates and is heavily influenced by him and with his writings and ideas.
In this dialogue, he questions what is good and what is bad, what is moral and not, what one ought to do. This dialogue also explains Plato's concept of FORMS.
